Heavy Rain Can Cause Water Damage in Santa Monica Due to Sewage Backup

The instance of Highway 247 being washed out by heavy rain at this time of year may seem like a coincidence. However, meteorologists have recently been warning that this year’s El NiƱo may be much more powerful than it has been in recent years— which means heavier-than-expected rain may be in California’s future. Heavy rain can cause water damage to Santa Monica homes— but not for the reason you may be thinking. Although flash floods are a threat to your home, the threat of a flood invading your home should be the least of your worries as this doesn’t happen very often. What you should be worried about is sewage backup.
